Girl with Bookshelves

Many refugee families do not have children's books in their homes. Help us reach our goal to send home a book with each family every week of the program.

VOLUNTEERING

EDUCATORS

You can help refugees in Indianapolis' Southside  by volunteering as a mentor-tutor for families, helping provide activities for younger siblings, as a youth mentor, or in a leadership role. Families are welcome to volunteer together.

Volunteers for the family mentoring program typically commit 1-2 hours each week on Wednesday evenings for 7 weeks.

Youth mentoring volunteers commit one hour on both Tuesday and Thursday afternoons over the course of 12 weeks.

We provide invitations in Halka and Falaam for teachers to invite Chin refugee students to apply for the program. If you'd like to invite a student who speaks a different language in their home to apply, please contact us and we'll see what we can do.
